Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to MSR4 product team. Mirantis Secure Registry (MSR) 4 is an Enterprise-grade container registry solution that can be integrated easily with standard Kubernetes distributions to provide tight security controls for cloud native development. Based on Harbor, which is open source and the only CNCF graduated container registry, this Mirantis product can serve as the core of an effective secure software supply chain. MSR Documentation - https://docs.mirantis.com/msr/4.13/ Main ResponsibilitiesDesign, architect, implement, review, and test frameworks, libraries, tools, and services primarily using Go.Participate in requirement, design, planning, and retrospective meetings as an integral part of an Agile software development team.Contribute to successful sprints by implementing items contributing to overall team goals.Act as a subject matter expert and evangelist within the company and broader community.Be an active maintainer of Mirantis projects by managing contributions and patches to open-source projects, reviewing submissions, and participating in design decisions.Participate in product discussions, influence the roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects to make them happen.Be the technical reference to external partners and in-house engineering teams, provide support by sharing knowledge and/or taking on the development effort.Contribute to testing via automation and test plan reviews to prevent bugs from entering the product and eliminate regressions, ensuring a quality product every build.Ensure that MSR continues to be a first-class and indispensable part of diverse customer solutions, working seamlessly with existing systems including popular orchestrators and other industry-standard components.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience RequirementsBachelors or Masters degree or equivalent in computer science or a related subjectDebugging: Particularly multi-process, orchestrated, distributed systemsKnowledge of the creation and use of containerization, Kubernetes, and Registries (Harbor preferred)5+ years development experience in a Linux or other Unix-like environment3+ years of experience with Go programming language or any other modern programming language that builds applications to productionPreferred ExtrasContributions to open-source Kubernetes or Go tooling projects.Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or DCA.Experience with additional languages: Shell scripting, PythonExperience with container registries (Harbor/MSR), OCI specs, Docker and/or Swarm.
