Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research company to improve how AI systems generate executive-level business reports and strategic recommendations. We're looking for experienced management consultants to help define what excellent business reporting looks like, create high-quality reports that address complex business questions, and evaluate AI-generated reasoning and outputs. This is a chance to apply consulting rigour to the development of next-generation AI systems that support business decision-making.
Responsibilities
Report Framework Development
- Define standards for high-quality business reports and executive communications
- Establish best practices for argument structure, evidence hierarchy, storytelling, and recommendation development
- Help create evaluation rubrics that distinguish exceptional, average, and poor-quality outputs
Report Writing
- Analyse business questions generated by AI systems
- Synthesise multiple sources of information into clear, actionable recommendations
- Produce decision-ready reports comparable to strategy consulting deliverables presented to executive leadership
Session Scoring & Evaluation
Review AI-generated research and reporting workflows across:
- Consistency of reasoning and recommendations
- Accuracy of analyses and conclusions
- Appropriateness of confidence assessments
- Quality of logical reasoning
- Executive readiness of final outputs
- Provide detailed feedback and scoring rationale.
Requirements
Must Have
- 3+ years at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, LEK, Oliver Wyman, Strategy&, Kearney, EY-Parthenon, Roland Berger, or a comparable strategy consulting firm
- Experience producing executive-facing presentations and reports
- Strong analytical problem-solving and structured thinking skills
- Experience synthesising qualitative and quantitative research into recommendations
- Excellent written communication skills
- Availability to commit 40 hours during the first week and approximately 15 hours per week thereafter
Preferred
- Experience in CPG, healthcare/pharma, financial services, retail, or consumer sectors
- Experience presenting recommendations directly to senior executives
- Experience evaluating analytical work products or mentoring junior consultants
Engagement Details
- Engagement Length: 1 month initially, with potential extension
- Commitment: 40 hours during the first week (training, calibration, and framework development), followed by approximately 15 hours per week for the remainder of the engagement

Contract and Payment Terms
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.

- Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
- Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
